What lies in that instant between intellectual intention and corporal gesture? A certain tension, an edge between safety and danger is sensed at the threshold between cognition and corporeal movement. Sometimes they agree, and this moment is missed. When they do not however, conflicting forces arise. This short video explores this interstice of conflict between physical movement and cognition. While wrought with a traumatic tension, it also produces an ecstatic play of affection.

My work is firstly phenomenological; sensation and affect are the primary ways in which I experience and present the world in video. Always already being in a world that is accustomed to reason and logic, the play between the two provide a constant source tension. It is this tension that is subject of my work, which may seem aggressive or violent on one hand, on the other, the beauty of simple movements, colors, and light trump all skepticism.
